Workfile Version Converter

Open newer Premiere Pro, Maya, Nuke and Final Cut Pro XML files in older versions.

The Fuke's Media Workfile Version Converter lowers the version stamp in Premiere Pro projects, Maya ASCII scenes, Nuke scripts and FCPXML files so an older release can open them. Only the version lines change, never the scene content, and the file is processed in your browser without uploading. For binary formats such as After Effects, Blender, Houdini or Resolve, it explains what each application supports instead.

Who it's for: Editors handing a Premiere Pro project to a facility on an older version; Maya and Nuke artists sharing scenes with vendors who haven't upgraded; Assistant editors sending FCPXML timelines to an older Final Cut Pro; Pipeline TDs checking which plugins and node types a scene depends on.

Supports: Premiere Pro project downgrader, Maya ASCII downgrade, Nuke script version, FCPXML version, Save for older version, Project version converter, Workfile downgrade.

Runs entirely in your browser: files are processed on your device and never uploaded.

Is converting a project to an older version safe? The tool changes only the version stamps and saves a new copy. Features the older release doesn't have are dropped or reported when the file opens, so always keep the original.

Why can't it convert After Effects, Blender or Houdini files? Those formats are binary, so only the application itself can rewrite them. The tool lists what each one supports, such as After Effects' Save a Copy As or exchanging data through USD, Alembic or FBX.

Can it convert Nuke Non-commercial or Houdini Apprentice files? No. Those files are protected by their licence, and converting them to commercial files would bypass it.

Do I need a converter to open older files in a newer version? No. Newer versions of Premiere Pro, Maya, Nuke and Final Cut Pro open older files and update them automatically.
