Matchmove Services
If the track slips, nothing downstream can save the shot.
Matchmove reconstructs the real camera's movement and lens in 3D space so CG elements share the plate's exact perspective. At Fuke's Media LLP, matchmove services sits inside a single end-to-end visual production pipeline, so the same team that plans a shot can also finish it — no handoffs between disconnected vendors, no version drift, no surprises in the final conform.
A sub-pixel error in the solve becomes a visible slide once a CG object is parented to it. That is why production houses, OTT commissioners, agencies and brands bring this scope to a specialist partner instead of absorbing it in-house: dedicated artists, predictable turnaround, and a review loop that keeps the director in control of every frame.
We solve with survey data and lens distortion profiles wherever available, and validate the solve with test geometry before handing off. Every project starts with a technical breakdown — plate audit, colour pipeline, resolution and frame-rate targets, delivery specs — before a single artist is assigned. Shots are tracked individually through 4 production stages, and each stage has a named owner and an approval gate.
Solves are delivered with a documented error value and an undistorted reference render. Deliverables leave the studio only after an internal QC pass covering Solved camera (Alembic/FBX/Maya), Tracked geometry and locators, Undistort/redistort setups and any client-specific delivery template. Where a project needs it, we work directly inside the client's own naming convention, folder structure and review platform.
If the track slips, nothing downstream can save the shot. Whether the scope is a handful of hero shots or a full-season episodic volume, the workflow scales the same way — the same pipeline, the same QC, the same single point of contact from bid to final delivery.
Data intake: On-set survey, lens data and reference stills collated.
Lens & distortion: Distortion profiled and grids generated.
Solve: Camera, object and body tracks solved and refined.
Validation: Test geometry rendered over the plate for slip checks.
Use case: CG element integration
Use case: Set extension anchoring
Use case: Digital double placement
Use case: Screen and signage replacement
Deliverables: Solved camera (Alembic/FBX/Maya); Tracked geometry and locators; Undistort/redistort setups; Solve error report.
What on-set data helps most? Lens focal and distortion charts, a survey of key set points, and reference stills of the space.
Can you track handheld and drone footage? Yes — both are routine, though rolling-shutter footage needs an additional correction pass.
Do you deliver in our scene scale? Yes, in your unit and up-axis convention, matched to your pipeline.
