Paint & Prep Services

The cleanest plate is the cheapest shot downstream.

Paint and prep is the preparatory clean-up pass that removes everything the shot was never meant to show before creative comp begins. At Fuke's Media LLP, paint & prep services sits inside a single end-to-end visual production pipeline, so the same team that plans a shot can also finish it — no handoffs between disconnected vendors, no version drift, no surprises in the final conform.

Every artefact left in a plate multiplies in cost once CG, grade and finishing are layered on top of it. That is why production houses, OTT commissioners, agencies and brands bring this scope to a specialist partner instead of absorbing it in-house: dedicated artists, predictable turnaround, and a review loop that keeps the director in control of every frame.

We paint on clean plates and patch sources wherever possible instead of frame-by-frame cloning, which keeps grain and texture consistent. Every project starts with a technical breakdown — plate audit, colour pipeline, resolution and frame-rate targets, delivery specs — before a single artist is assigned. Shots are tracked individually through 4 production stages, and each stage has a named owner and an approval gate.

Painted regions are checked for grain match, temporal stability and edge softness at full resolution. Deliverables leave the studio only after an internal QC pass covering Clean plate sequences, Clean plate patches, Paint project files and any client-specific delivery template. Where a project needs it, we work directly inside the client's own naming convention, folder structure and review platform.

The cleanest plate is the cheapest shot downstream. Whether the scope is a handful of hero shots or a full-season episodic volume, the workflow scales the same way — the same pipeline, the same QC, the same single point of contact from bid to final delivery.

Plate audit: Catalogue of every artefact per shot with a fix method.

Patch generation: Clean-plate extraction and projection setup.

Paint pass: Frame-accurate removal with grain and lens matching.

Stability QC: Playback review for chatter, boiling and grain mismatch.

Use case: Tracking marker and rig removal

Use case: Dust, scratch and sensor-fault cleanup

Use case: Set dressing removal

Use case: Continuity fixes

Deliverables: Clean plate sequences; Clean plate patches; Paint project files.

Do you need clean plates from set? They help enormously and cut cost, but we can reconstruct patches from surrounding frames when none were shot.

Can you fix camera sensor dust across a whole shoot? Yes — automated detection plus a manual verification pass across the full volume.

Is paint included in a comp bid? We quote it as a separate line so producers can see the real prep cost.
